Updates and Changes Have Been Made To GSF!

Here are some of the changes that have been put into effect, Thanks to everyone for their suggestions (you know who you are )

- Top Posting User Of The Week:
We will now be awarding the top poster of the week with a medal (see 'medals' below for details) as well posting a video of their choice on the right.

- users can now post comments on the video's on the right

- Spam Reduction:
* members with less than a week registration are unauthorised to post external links and emails

* In order to post in the promotion section you must have at least 5 posts

- Member Of The Month:
The member of the month will get 3 of their video's uploaded to our channel with their username in the description

member of the month will be determined by

* Quality of the users posts
* Helpfulness of users posts (answering others questions)
* Their engagement in forum activity

- Ranks:
[Spammer] This rank will be added to users who only post links to their video's and do not really contribute to the forum. The user can redeem himself by posting more quality content and engaging in forum activity

[Designer] This rank will be added to anybody who posts in the fan art section

- Medals:
[Top Poster] People who finish first in the top posting users

[Very active member] members with over 75 posts

[Donor] For people who donate.

[Expert] Somebody who always answers others questions and helps them with their problems

Let me know what you think of these changes and if you have any more idea's post them in the suggestion section


Edit:
XP points added

- You will get 1 XP point for posting around forums
- you will lose 10 XP for posting in the promotion section
- you will gain 5 XP by replying in the promotion section

If you have negative XP you will get ranked as a spammer

Once you get back to positive XP spammer rank will be lifted

You may not reply or bump your own threads in the promotion section

I really like these new changes. They make the site a lot better. The medals are pretty cool. I first saw earlier that No1leftB3HIND has the "Top Poster" medal. Anyways, these are great changes, in my opinion. GSF just gets better and better!

Thanks alot for getting back to us CB, I know the mods and I are happy to see a few of our ideas put into affect. Hopefully we'll see more dedicated gamers joining the ranks of our community.

I am not a mod, but I look forward to the same thing. GSF is an amazing forum, and people just need to take the time to realize that.

i like the changes. theres one more thing: what about the section on the right. is there anyway to get more people to show their videos on the right or has the new rules already cover that. I do post links only but im branching out and starting to help and give advice to people who deserve it.

I was just wondering but was sure there was a minecraft section but I can't find it. I don't know any other place to upload my video's and was wondering what you thought. btw is that server still up?

well as of now the only ways to get your video's on the right are:
Being a top posting user of the week
Becoming a VIP (Donating)
Being the member of the month

If we let too many people post their videos they will get less views and will no longer be worth it. I'm glad you like the changes though and thanks for feedback

I like these changes I also find the spammer one will be funny once people start to realize that its happened to them

I like the idea, just the medals are way too big.

Shouldn't 3MZ be here saying that this is a bad idea because it brings spammers to the site?

After seeing the re-update with the xp, I went to look at the statistics of the forum's wiping boy, and I gotta say, CB you are SO nice. Is that a cap on negativity or did you just cut him a little slack?

Now we just need people like Stargate who has donated money to help donate to the site. So we can get rid of the stupid bullshit adf.ly

I think the next thing will be to get more people here. If this site gets enough web traffic in a week, advertisers will pay to CB to advertise their products, and then he won't have to use adf.ly to generate income.

I agree with Fr0z3n about the medals. They are way too big.

I also agree with this. I am a very impatient person, so 5 seconds is a long time to wait, for me

Yeah i gave him a chance he deserves more lol but as the rule is new, i cut him some slack

I now have to design another Avatar that is more fitting to the bright limegreen. They clash to much...ahhhh I'm blind.
