GSF Youtube Annoucement

Just wanted to let everyone know that I added a new playlist to the gsfgamenights channel called "User Videos". The top posting user for the week, if they so choose will get a video of their choosing loaded up on the gsf youtube for everyone to see. You will be notified if you win and you will give a mod your video to load up. Just make sure that you have the forum intro in front of your video if you win.

I just want to clarify on what Josh has already said. So that there is no confusion.

To be added to the playlist on the GSF Game Night Channel, you must:

• Be the Top Poster for any given week.
  
• Have the GSF intro at the beginning of your video you want promoted.
  

If you win the Top Poster Award, you will receive a medal and are eligible to have a video of yours promoted. You do not have to have the GSF Intro (DL) in your video to have it promoted in the VIP section to the right. You MUST have it in the video for it to make it onto the youtube channel.

It's been said three times now, in three different ways. Hopefully that makes the criteria crystal clear.

This sounds like a good idea but how does it get the original uploader get views?

It, in theory, will get your video more attention. If the people that watch it on the gsf channel like it, then hopefully they will check your channel out which will be linked in the description.

But we are dealing with people here. They are totally unpredictable and suck a lot of times, but hopefully, by having a higher probability change of getting people to come across your videos, itll mean more people will check out your channel.

At the moment, we will do the top posting user of the week and super mods. Then once everything gets going and its working out, we will increase it to all mods (which really probably wont be that long). Then at some piont in time in the future, we will have to think of some sort of criteria to be met and we will upload sponsored players vids that meet said criteria.

At least this is what I'm thinking. I havent discussed this idea with anyone. Well at least the parts that I just typed out.

And oh yeah. Paid VIPs can have their gameplay loaded as long as it has the intro. Every video on the channel needs to have the intro.

Perhaps make it like vip in a sense for sponsored players there vid can be uploaded for a certain amount of xp

I think the Top Posting User and MOD videos should be separate playlists. I also think Supermods should only be allowed one video per month on the account, Regular mods 1 every two months, and Sponsored PLayers once every 3 months. They should each have individual playlists that clearly denote the what they are.

I was honestly trying to avoid all of this until we got game nights successfully operating. That's the main focus of the channel and what we should all be striving to fill it with.

Ok, so here are some ideas...

1. Super Mods get every video of theirs uploaded to the channel. All of them. And the Moderators go in the channel subbox. All Sponsored Players get their own links to their YouTube channel to the right of the channel. So...

2. Dual commentaries for let's plays and such.

3. Minecraft series.

4. Weekly update videos including updates from all Super Mods. In the update we will discuss what's going on at the site as well as advertise the top poster of the week's channel. We all have voice discussion over Skype.

So, those are my ideas. Feedback appreciated. Feel free to pitch ideas of your own.

I've been trying to get in touch with CB about this subject, but he seems to have been MIA for the last week and a half. Currently, The channel that we have at the moment is for Game Nights, period. This may change. The Top Posters addon is not so bad, because it's directly related to what's occurring on the site. But cluttering it up with tons of videos from everybody for miscellaneous reasons is not what this GSF channel is for.

Once the Main GSF gets un-banned (banned for what reason, I have no idea) or a new one gets created, we can map out how and what we want to add to the channel. Btw, the top poster videos will get moved there once it's back up too.

I think alot of stuff could be done with a different channel, especially if we have a bunch of people contributing, but not this one.

Some things I'd suggest for the Main GSF channel, not GSFGameNights, is that every video that gets put on the channel must have the GSF intro (which is also a requirement for the GSFGameNight channel).

Super Mods may put one vid every 2 weeks
Mods may add one every month
Sponsored Players and the remaining VIPs can spend 300>>500>>750>>1000xp (max 4 vids in a month) to put up their video (mod & super mods can add additional videos for spent xp)

I think it might be cool to do a contest once a month too, where, we the mods pick 4-5 videos from the promotion section and have the site take a poll on which one they think should get promoted. The winner would get an award and added to the channel. Oh and only sponsored players and regular members could win. staff would not be included.

I'm still not keen on doing mod videos just because we are staff. but if we were to do it, how I posted above would be the best way in my eyes.

So aswell as donating my money, I also have to spend my xp to get my videos up? not much incentive to keep donating really, and hardly seems fare for me, and others who donate monthly when you see what members who don't donate, have to do to have thier videos put up.

Good Idea, can I add that the member who's video is chosen MUST be an active member, regular poster on here.

Sponsored members to spend xp to get thier videos up is a good Idea yes, I agree, just not those who donate but, cut back on the ammount of videos we do put.

People on this site barely watch each others videos imagine trying to get them to vote for videos the sad thing is most people here won't do something unless it benefits them

actually I watch other peoples videos quite frequently. it's how people post that really turns me away from most videos. I watch almost all of the VIP vids, but I do understand what you're talking about, but I think that will change with the more active members we get.

This sounds like a great idea and i will spread the word and get more members in here.

I agree with stargate, vips donate real money to keep this place running. They shouldnt have to pay xp as well. If they do, it should only be like 10% of what sponsored players have to pay. But I would rather them not pay any bit of xp to post. As long as they are actively contributing to the forum.

that does make more sense.
