Hauppauge HDPVR 2

The gaming edition 2 that came out earlier this summer has been the hot sell for gamers. This product has been hitting the market big time before all these big name games start rolling out. I got my hands on one and I like the design and being able to play through HDMI's but I still prefer playing through component cables because it is easier to split. That way your not paying 70 dollars for two HDMI's that can run 1080p. The software that comes with it is just plain shit so I ran it on my Arc Soft recording software and its perfect. So if you have the set up for it and the money for the expensive cables go for it. But if you going to get get 15 dollar cables its a waste.

I seen the gaming edition of the HD PVR it looks amazing but if we are honest it is only because Elgato released there PVR. It will all come down to the price of the HD PVR!

Elgato's have been having problems with hardware. Hauppauge will sell more due to the fact its hauppauge and have been around longer and better hardware. Elgato is also in a lawsuit with Happuage because the format of there recorder is the same as gaming edition. hauppauge patent it a long time ago.

also, I think it's very important to mention, that Hauppauge stands firmly behind all of their products. They offer a 2 year repair/replacement warranty from the date of purchase. Mine when on the fritz after recording over 700hrs of footage, and they repaired it no questions asked. It'll be delivered on tuesday from repairs.

I use the hd pvr 2 gaming edition, its great but when i record sometimes i see something gltiching so now i had to hide that using the wmv. codec and takes a long time from 1 - 5 hours depending on how long the vid is.
