What to say?

In a commentary, would someone rather hear a side rant, about some unrelated thing? such as whats in the news and stuff like that?

or would they rather hear commentary specific to the gameplay?

Or even just funny stuff?

I find myself searching for things to come up with and say while trying to commentate.

I'm nowhere near big on youtube but when watching other peoples commentaries I find that I like them to talk about, pretty much all of the stuff u listed. If they need to announce something in their video but is unrelated to it then they do its fine, or they talk about their gameplay or what they plan to do in the video or in the series theyre making (and obviously its nice to be funny but dont just go off saying random funny things that have absolutely nothing to do with the video/game) just be creative
