ATTENTION!!!! Everyone read this

In an effort to get everyone more involved in the site I am proposing an advice type thing.

Here's the deal. If any body on here needs any advice on anything (relationships, work, friends, whatever) just let me know by posting you question in this thread, or if you want to remain anonymous you can pm me. I will take the questions that I get and make a video that will be featured over there on the vip wall. The more questions I get, the more videos I will make and the more awesome advice you guys will get. You guys can get a shout in the vid for your question or you can remain anonymous if it were a pm. It's up to you guys.

Why would you want advice from me? Well I am probably the oldest active member on this forum. I'm don't bs anyone. And well, I'm just plain awesome.

What is this calpaul thing you speak of? I googled it and there's a ton of different things it can be. So I need some clarification on it.

Is this actually a real issue or are you just screwing with me?

His silence says everything. I have an issue that I've been trying to figure out for a while. I've ran into it in a number of different scenarios and plays out they same way.

How does an 'observer' stop participating with one 'aspect' of a 'system' while simultaneously needing to be involved in the entirety of the 'system'. The 'aspect' is not necessary for the system's survival, however the 'observer' can not remove the 'aspect' from the 'system' in it's entirety. .... So far from what I can tell, the observer has two real options, (1)change the system, or (2)remove it's self from the system. Other than those there seem to be no other realistic options.

This problem can be found in dealings with Co-Workers, Bosses, Car Insurance, or even just having a Car, School, etc. If I'm being confusing just ask me to clarify. This is a toughie.

What I'm asking is, "Are there any other alternatives you can think of, besides the two options I've already listed."

Yeah you'll need to clarify for me exactly what the situation is. The answer will probably be different for each situation even though its the idea over many situations. Just pm me if its pretty personal and you don't want everyone knowing the specifics.

It's not really personal for me, mostly for others. You're right, each scenario will have it's own nuances to resolve the situation, but I'm really looking for a broad answer. To help though I'll list my scenario.

I've been paying car insurance for x years now. I've paid roughly $30k into insurance during the years, that amount of money is worth nearly 6x the net worth of the three vehicles I've owned during the span of time. I've never been in a wreck. Insurance has seemed like useless 'mandatory' system I must intereact with to drive a car. However, I feel as if I've paid my dues and no longer wish to give a company my money to continue honest privileges with the state. I have to drive a car, the distances are too great in my area to accomplish my daily responsibilities over the course of a single day. However without insurance I can't legally have a car, and jeopardize my good sanding with the state of north carolina.

SO far my options have been, suck it up and keep forking out money every month, or not pay it, let it lapse, void my plates and then eventually get pulled and ticketed. I've asked this question on another forum and was berated to no end. Most reasonable answers listed were: start walking & get a bike. Nether are realistic in my area. That would be 24 miles I'd have to cover in a single day, just to get to work and home. Some states have a state fee you can pay to forgo insurance, but it's like a lump sum of $10k. Which then you never have to pay insurance on that single vehicle again, however I don't have that kind of ash. So what do I do? How do I stop paying insurance, but keep legally driving my car?

Ah. Well this is actually a fairly easy one. I will try to make a video this weekend unless you are wanting the answer here quickly. I'd also like some other people's issues to throw into the vid but if this is the only one I have by the time I make it ill just roll with this.
