Pretty solid ideas. I know it would be a programming nightmare, but I think it would be interesting to see members getting rep points or such for visiting other member's provided links. Just an idea.

keeping people avid fans of a certain site can be a daunting task, one that I will be involved with soon enough. I feel that once there are enough incentives to participate in the forum, it may be harder to get to the top poster position for the week, which only took 15 posts.

I immediately realized that to be a problem when I signed up and checked out the video submission forum (which in my opinion is the focus for the site) and the majority of videos having no comments what so ever. And surely the best way to get sponsored is to have a vast community of sponsors and creators, if you have 3 pages in a row and there are only 5 comments for 100 videos, no one is going to get the publicity they, or this site are looking for.

I think it would also be nice to have the forum broken down into further sections, going so far as specific games to genres. (MW3, would get it's own category split between classes, sniper, commando, etc) making it easier for people to find content they are interested in, rather than wading through 200+ forum pages to visit individual videos.

There are lots of choices, I think the one that really should be explored is competitions for certain games, like one month run comp entries for a certain game, and the top the montages receive certain prizes, (like publicity or pro status). I'd bee interested to see where this site is in a year or so.

I guess while I'm spilling my ideas, there should be a function allowing you to embed a single video into your profile. I'm not sure how that would effect gsf's bandwidth or host limits, but it would certainly allow for more flexibility for users trying to promote themselves...

I totally agree with your suggestions we wont ever get any fame from this site because everyone just post their videos and leaves no comments or nothing just in it for their selves we should get more people to actually comment and show some support would really help alot of new commentators/reviewers!

I mean it's that, or this entire site is just a gimmick for the becomeagametest.com ads, which is a probability, but I hope that's not the case. Either way, participation is a must for this venture to succeed.

Umm... This is pretty much the point bl1i8n2k has been getting across for 2 months.

It has been my mission to try and turn this place from a video dumping ground to an actual forum. I really think we should have a post per video type of limit or something. Like if you want to post your video, you have to have like 5 other posts before you can. And video posts do not count towards the post count.

I'm right there with ya, consider me a fellow dedicated participant. I think that rule should be void once you hit a certain post count, like 200 or something.

Their should be requirements to post your videos if you are not active atleast 10 hours a week you cant post vidoes and there should be a post limit aswell

From what little I know about web scripting, Identifying the difference between standard links and video links would be near impossible unless it's embedded. Creating post caps before you can post videos may be equally difficult. I know it is possible to require X amount of posts before you can start a thread, but monitoring link types isn't doable with XML and would require a mastermind to do so with Java, unless there is some handy coding I'm unaware of.

I dont know anything about any of that programing stuff, but I do know that something needs to be done and Im sure someone knows how to.

Ah, to contest with exuberance, very nice. What I'm saying is that before you can post your videos on a new thread, you should have to comment on 5 other videos beforehand, this should continue until 200 posts, which would mean that the user has been dedicated to the site for an extended period of time, maybe the count could be lowered to 100, that means they could post 20 videos up until that point and then afterwards a limitless amount. It makes sense when you use your noggin.
