Roxio Game Capture

I use the Roxio Game Capture. Got it from Roxio.com. Its incredibly simple to set up, comes with editing software. You can record in divx, avi or wmv and can export out into like 20 different formats. You can watch my vids to see the quality. They are recorded in avi and rendered in Windows Media 9 1280x720. Totally worth the money, especially if you are just starting out.

Yes, to your point, it is a great piece of hardware to start off with. Great price and very simple to use and for me the software has been great. I have long since updated to a HD recording device but Roxio Game Capture is a great starting point.

Lol I meant that it looks good the idea was a force of habit for suggestions XD

I also use a roxio game capture. The only problem I have is the my audio quality when I render with roxio videowave (the video editor that comes with it)It just makes my audio sound bad and isn't clear. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix that?

I absolutely hate Roxio. It's just a bad company, and bad products. They are really annoying. It says its HD, BUT ITS NOT! I got one as my first HD Recorder, Man first of all it said on box it came with double sided cords and it DIDN'T. I was just done with it there, so I got that, and splitters (Cuz they aren't naturarlly split most of the time) and the thing said it would come out to be atleast 720, the software only records in 480 and then its rendered in 720 (Which is fake). Like when it renders in something it's not that, its basically going to show up on youtube as 720 to just lie to people. Thats not how I roll, So I got a Dazzle and that one was somewhat better, It wasn't true HD, but it still looked nicer than a Roxio. Then 2 years ago I got a Hauppauge, and nothing compares! Basically Roxio can burn, they also have horrible customer service.

I haven't had to deal with customer service, so I cannot say anything about that. The video quality is fine to me though. I do want to invest in a HDPVR sometime, but I cannot afford it. Same with sony vegas.

I too had Dazzle, it was ok, did the job but I saw what the hauppauge could do, coupled with the Vegas editing suite, I just had to have them, a big outlay at the time but it's pretty much all I have to keep me occupied, so worth it, for me anyway

It's worth it, but I just don't have the money haha

I would also not invest in Vegas. I would Crack it and get Vegas Free. Thats what everyone does. Sony leaves there trial versions up even knowing people crack it. So they aren't stopping it.

I don't crack anything. I know I sound like a loser, but it isn't right, also stealing pretty much. so no thanks

I love my Hauppauge, one of the best investments. that being said the roxio i had before that wasn't bad, just not on the same level as the Hauppauge. In this case you really do get what you pay for.

I've just ordered a Roxio trying to upgrade from the dazzle.

It's an upgrade for sure, but if you hadn't of ordered it I would have suggested you saved for a Hauppauge HD PVR. Just IMO.

This definitely comes down to a what is more important at the moment situation. There is no debating that the Roxio could be considered on par with the Hauppauge. If you have enought money or are willing to wait a bit so you can save up enough, get the Hauppauge. If you are just starting out, or do not want to throw down all that money for the Hauppauge, then get the Roxio. Its more than capable enough to do what the majority of people want when it comes to making youtube vids and its a nice mid-ground between the garbage that is dazzle and the awesomeness that is Hauppauge.
