VIP Videos

So I got a comment on the last 3 of my videos I uploaded and I noticed that they get bumped up like a typical thread. Since there is a limited amount of slots on the side, maybe we should make it so that comments are allowed but do not bump the thread back up to the top. I know someone will end up getting butt-hurt if that doesnt happen.

Yeah, do the non-bump thing you did for Submit a Video, CB. My video was up for a total of 5 seconds.

I agree the vids at the side now constantly change so no one is getting a chance

you guys must be crazy, Josh you have two vids up right now. Gabe your's stayed up for almost 4 days. I don't think it went to fast at all, frozen your's was up for about 2-3 days as well. These videos rotate, that's the point. I've been on the forum alot, and I feel these complaints are a little unfounded.

No. You missed the point. The point is, that I loaded a video on monday, another on thrusday and finally one yesterday. There have been how many other people that have loaded videos in that same stretch of time, yet as of right now, since people commenting bump the videos back up to the side, the video I loaded monday is back up there as well as my video from yesterday.

Now I definitely love having as much time on the side and exsposure as anyone else, but I am saying that it isnt all that fair that my almost week old video has pushed other, much newer videos out of the way.

I see, hmm.. Well I guess it will be the mods jobs to lock those threads after they fall off the side, that way they don't get bumped. It's a little extra work, but that's what we're here for.

The videos won't appear to the right if the post gets locked.

well if they move past the third post, they don't need too. I'm not saying lock all the threads, just the one's after the top 3. In the process of doing it now.

ok, so I locked all the threads on the first page. except for the top 3, now while those top three are up they may display in any number of orders, but once the next video is placed on the forum, lock the oldest thread and we should be left with the newest three vids on the right. I think this will resolve our situation and still allow us to comment in the VIP forum

I think theres a better way then that. If we lock the posts then no one will be able to comment on them. If we are trying to get people to interact, then locking the post so they cant tell the maker of the video what they thought of it is the complete opposite of what we should be doing.

The threads need to be able to have comments posted on them but not allowing the video to get bumped up. There has to be an easy fix for CB to do to handle it.

No matter what way its done this has to be fixed its a pain in the ass

it may be, but for the time being, until we're told differently, just lock any thing but the top 3. It's not the best fix, but it is a fix. I think this is what he was talking about when he told me he didn't want to allow comments. That's probably why the vip forum was locked from anything but admin comments. If it becomes a problem he'll just lock the whole forum down again.

Right ok so the only eat to fix it is to lock everything that isn't 3 most recent... Seems legit XD
