I actually just found this kind of interesting. I'm figuring out ways of helping promote this site to get more people involved. While lurking I found this: Forum Motion's GSF Ranking
The hosting site for GSF is a popular free forum hosting tool, at least for the techies. I think a great start would be to get this forum to the number one site. It seems there are two areas we're lacking. New Recruits to join in a 3 month time span, and number of replies to topics started. The higher we climb the more notoriety we'll receive.
To the skeptic's who are like big woop, and who cares, you must understand, that the more people invested in this site, the better your chances are of getting sponsored/partnered by youtube or a gaming company.
Imagine gaming companies aren't happy with they're current testers or walkthrough teams. Maybe a product is looking to sponsor a player for a certain game. Imagine these corporate entities looking here as their first option. The more you spread the word of the forum, the more selfless you are, the more rewarding your endeavors will be.
If you're reading this and you aren't a moderator, that means you've already taken some steps to get involved with promoting yourself, you've already taken the time to register on a forum. You've already taken the time in doing tons of other things, trying to figure out this business like the rest of us. Why not take the time to do this? It will help you. Reply to other's thread, watch new videos, like them dislike them, leave feedback. Encourage people to be more involved.
There are 6.5 Thousand Members on this site, and there is no reason you shouldn't be getting 3-4 thousand views every time you post a video. If people are really serious about getting sponsored, this is how they'd act. They'd be promoting themselves by attracting others in one way or another.
If you're were hungry and someone handed you the most delicious sandwich in the world, would you eat it?
