Hauppauge HDPVR vs Elgato

I'm trying to figure out which one to buy

I have a hd pvr happauge and have been doing some reading everyone is saying elgato is much betetr because you can actually connect with hdmi cable

Hdmi is far superior to component connections so I'd say elgato

I use the Hauppauge HDPVR, and there is literally no difference. You'll be hard pressed to find someone who can identify the difference. The HDMI cable is just a fancy selling point. Hauppauge has an excellent customer service background and gives a 2 years manufacturers warranty on all of their products from the date of purchase. Elgato does not. This means if anything happens to it (aside from you destroying it intentionally or disassembling it) they will refurbish or replace it for free.

If you don't believe me on the quality, check out any of my 1080p HD videos on my channel or VIP section and you seriously can't tell the difference.

i have the Avermedia HD PVR and i was going to get a PVR since it records in the format that works instantly with Vegas without converting, But the Elgato looks preety sleek and has HDMI. Anyone have both? the Elgato has a rewind so if you arent recording you can still go back 30 minutes or something to record it again...I really like that feature.

That's a pretty good feature on the Elgato but once people have a HD PVR i doubt they're going to waste more money on another one because i wouldn't want to waste on another HD PVR because it's too much money being spent, but i can't talk for other that's just how i feel about that xD
Hauppauge HD PVR is a pretty good recording device i wouldn't be surprised if these other HD PVR had extra feature because they want to add more things then the Hauppauge HD PVR so they can sell more, which i find very clever xD
Overall it doesn't really matter all that much to me if one has a better review than the other go for it. My vote would be what ever cheaper xD
