O.M.D edit just with Windows Movie Maker

This is my first edit I've ever done, please tell me what you think about it:

As is said, it is fully done with Windows Movie Maker

If your going to do a gameplay you can't zoom in like that. Movie make is not good at all. Its not HD capable and its all laggy. This really wouldn't count as an edit.

the sence of the zoom, was to show what is in the inventory, but you're right, it is laggy

I know what you were doing with the zoom, but if your commentating just talk about it. Also you seem like you script it out. Just let it fly and no script. Have an idea in your head get some info and talk about it. Also add personal feel about a topic.

Agree with you VirtualCinema.

I think it's a goof edit for Windows Movie Maker, and I thought it was slow on purpose, but now I know it's just lag.

yeah, a bad choice to just Windows Movie Maker.

Movie maker is ok.

its ok yes, its fast to learn how it works, but not good for HD videos..go for sony vegas.

Yea Sony Vegas I use that but I also use other things to buff some stuff up.

Dr Doodle, for your first video, this is not a bad start. It needs some work, and yes Movie Maker, needs to go. For how inexpensive Vegas Movie Studio is (don't get pro until you're ready to drop booku money on a computer and editing software), it is really the clear choice.

As far as the editing goes, it does need a little help, which may be because of the program, but albeit it's mostly likely because of the User, ya'know cause it's ur first time and all. So for the first timer, I'll give you a 6/10.

Bro, we gotta get you on the Vegas. You need a better editor. You'll understand when you start playing with it. It'll be like "Wtf?" then it'll be like... "oh, ok!?!" Then you'll be like "Oh that's awesome!!".

I really do like your making videos of a game other than CoD, and trying to do it in a montage format, certainly interesting, and oddly entertaining to watch wave destruction/tps.

It's just being an editor myself and understanding all you can do with the videos in Vegas, this feels like it would take 10 minutes to slap this together. All of what your doing in this video is shrinking, quickening, and cross fades with an audio overlay, at a steady rate. The things aren't intermittent nor do they flow with the music. You need and outro of some sort, when video's cut out it looks sloppy. And I'll try working on an intro for ya today or tomorrow (whenever I get bored of running around in Draagon's Dogma), because I can see now, you need one.

On a plus side, Doing all of this with freeware, is a great way to start. Your right in that realm of I don't really know what's going on, but I know what I want to do... and I personally like that. So let's figure out a way to get you $60 (or whatever the equivalent is) so we can get you a copy of Vegas Studio.

(If anyone would like to tell him to 'DL' an illegal copy that he hasn't payed for or inform him on how to do so, I'll dig out the ban hammer, we do not condone Illegal Activity, nor will it be promoted on this site. Period)

I know what you mean, in on the 4th episode with sony vegas, just the test version but anyway, I got the "wow" feeling
But the problem is, I didn't got much experience in editing, my focu is on commentating and this is just a additionally projekt.
Another problem is the musik, I don't got the rights to use the musik, but I found one channel with non copyrightet musik on and now I think I'll use this musik and try to do a better edit next time.
I'll be only in 2 or 3 weeks probably

I already got some musik now, but I got some probs with the funktions of Sony Vegas, so I'm watching some tutorials right now and I hope I'll get up the next episode in 1 or 2 week (I'll post it here too)

Now it is declared as a walkthrough, that fits better to the video as gameplay, I'm now saving money for Sony Vegas or just wish it for christmas
Anyway, I'm still on it but now with testversion of Sony Vegas !! Hope it'll be better then the first parts, but I still need some practise in editing music, so it takes some time till the next episode (visual content almost ready for episode 4)

It came out kinda dark on my end. Might just be vegas. The mixing for the songs could have been a little better, too choppy. I like the direction you're heading though. It's certainly improved.

The sense behind the choppy music was, to show the two parts of the game, on one side the traps and the tactical stuff, on the other side the fighting wich is some kind of CoD
Every of my edits got a deeper sense, but I'm happy, that you like where I'm going

Oh, I don't mind the switching of the song so much, it just should be edited a little better. Maybe an in between sound effect, like a [swoosh] or something, I think you could have been more selective about which parts of the song were playing on the switch over.

In the new one there isn't any zoom, but you're right, in the older ones there are some lags, but not because of the zoom, maybe because I uploadet it from germany and you're watching it from USA or somewhere and the youtube server for europe is in ireland I think(not quite sure)
So thats may the reason but it can also beeing the zoom
