Dead Island Riptide

Who here is actually interested in getting this game? The story in it just doesn't seem good. I can't wait till they make the official Dead Island 2! That will be so much better!

I think dead island is bad.
The story sucks.

Why do you think that?

To be honest for me it was not the story for me that made me not overly enjoy the game. But overall the gameplay was a bit clunky and got a little repetitive after a while.

It was like a zombie skyrim kind of game.

im sorry then, from now one i will be more creative about my post's.
But i can read it again, so my mind can remember better.

I didn't say it was a skyrim, its like its very similar with building weapons with materials you find in the world, and also riding horses (Cars). It's kind of similar. It has the ideas from it. But it is clunky and is weird.

well, if you seen on that way so yes,then im agree with you.
Dead island seens to like many other game, not just skyrim, but i understand what you mean.

Yea, it also kind of feels like that one game where you fight zombies in the mall. I forget that game.

yeah, i almost forget that game self :O
its so many zombie games so i think have the same stuff in it.Why dont make a special game so is so much different then all other zombie games.
I hope that day will come in few years.

I felt like it had a cool concept. But I feel like there was not enough done with it. I feel that the game had plenty of potential taking a new spin on a standard game type. But I can't say I am excited for a sequel.

After seeing all the negative responses on this, I felt that I needed to add my positive experience with this game. Personally, I played through the entire story about 2 and a half times (once by myself and the others with friends.) In my opinion, it was very addicting and a very intuitive spin on zombies. For the love of Zeus, you could decapitate or dismember zombies depending on where you hit them and it affected how they moved and attacked! That has to mean something. Also, the weapon mods and all the different weapon types were fantastic.

I also agree that it can be compared to Skyrim. Sure, some of the attacks and things were a bit clunky (just like Skyrim.) And, it did not have that much of an impressive amazing story, but, let's all be honest, neither does Skyrim! The reason why people like Skyrim is for the weapons, quests, and leveling up their character. Besides not as much leveling abilities, Dead Island fits it all!

Now, I would like to hear any educated counter-debate on the topic besides "The story is bad" or "it's just like all the other zombie games." Let's face it, all the zombie games are very similar in general idea.

Needless to say, I am very excited for the sequel.

As I said before the game itself was not bad. The production team did a great job of taking a new spin on an old idea. But the main problem for me was the repetitive nature of the gameplay as well as the overall clunkyness of the game. In my opinion the game's greatest strength is also it's greatest weakness. That is the first-person melee combat. It is an awesome way to fight zombies, but because of the nature of the controls, the fighting not only feels a bit clunky, but also gets repetitive. In a sense the whole presentation was lacking in my opinion. The storyline did not knock my socks off, the cut-scenes left something to be desired, and the voice acting was borderline bad. But that being said, playing this game was not to the point of a chore, but it was not something that had me dying to play it either. So to be fair, dead island is not a terrible game by any means. But it is not going to win game of the year in my book. If I read reviews that a sequel had the problems fixed then I will gladly buy and play the game.

I personally Cant wait for this game I enjoyed the first one. Ahhhhh the memories of smashing zombie heads in . What im not a bad person
