New rule for posting videos

Mild-restrictions or rewards are probably the route to take. Giving out little awards for your profile would seem like the best route to me. I can think of tons of little awards this site could give out to it's users as a process of inspiring this community to be more (Vid of the Month, Most active, Most involved, GOld Topic starter, etc). I'd really like to hear what CB has to say about it, although he may just be happy with the current state it's in.

well if you want this thing to work u got to make more people more noticable on the right hand side of the forum. all i see is the same people posting. when there are clearly more people that earn that spot like me. but i see where u get at. but im just saying i see alot of COD and BF thats why i dont reply. and i reply to certain things not every single topic. i dont like repling to something unless it interestes me. If i dont reply to something doesnt mean i look at different sections other than the video section.

And that's fine, and I'm glad you bring something different to the table other than CoD or any other generic FPS (seriously BF, change the game) Because that IS the majority of posts on this site. While I can appreciate CoD, and CoD is also the MLG and GameBattle Highlight (where most players end up getting sponsored), I still don't want to watch it every waking moment, it get's bland. So let's continue to think of new ways to increase participation levels, and I like the idea about including more player vids on the right. Lets hope we some changes soon.

I actually agree with you about this rule. I really hate it when people just join here, post a few videos, and leave forever. Making all users have at least 5 posts other than posting videos is a good idea, because it will give the users a chance to actually get well known throughout the forum before they start posting videos. There is definetly alot more to the forum that posting videos. GSF is also about meeting people from all over the world that share the same hobby as you, which is gaming. You also post videos to show off your gaming skills. I definetly encourage people to browse around the forum and see what else the website has to offer, because it's just not all about videos. I have been a member here since May and I have to say, this is a great forum. Yes, it's really cool to watch other people's gaming videos, but also, GSF gives you the oppurtunity to meet other gamers. If there is a certain game that you really enjoy playing, you can browse around the forum and see who else plays that same game.

So, to explain this all in one sentence, there is definetly a lot more to GSF than posting videos.

So will this rule actually be implemented or are we just going to talk about it?

We are just talking about it. I'm going to send CB a PM with all the idea's we've had in the last couple weeks and see if he says anything.

I am really glad to see this rule be in effect. This will give people a chance to realize that there is more to the site than just posting videos.
