How to get Custom Thumbnails on a Non-Partnered Channel [Doesn't work for everyone]

You have to have certain amount of views, subs and an audience, then youtube gives it to you. Basically you will become a semipartner. Yeush explained it already.

Well do you need "Monetization" for it? Like Google Adsense? My friend with 181 subs and about 10k upload views can use the thumbnails ( he has monetization enabled ) yet i have 800 subs and 115k upload views and can not use the thumbnails. My Adsense got disabled for some false reason though. ( I think i just answered my own question... )

Tell him not to do customization because when you do that then you lose your chance of getting a partner. Supposedly from people that I know that have done it.

so I should tell him not to use the thumbnails? And wouldn't it still be unaffected if it is from some other network? Such as Bentpixel or fullscreen ( just examples ). Should he disabled / remove all monetization he currently is using or do you mean just thumbnails? Sorry if I'm making this more complicated then it really is.

Okay just a filler in here: yes one of the reasons you don't have the feature could be due to you not having adsense or it being disabled due to copyright issues.

However having adsense is no longer an issue due to youtube quite awhile go saying that they can remove adsense and give the channel over to the network in less than a week.

Using the thumbnails is fine as i have it and yet my adsense is just there. I have not monetized any videos so perhaps if you monetize the videos, if you get partnered it could make the transfer a bit more tricky.

You might not have the feature yet because it is brand new and your channel just hasn't simply got the feature yet.

Thank you, your post did help. But I had adsense back in July. It got disabled because they thought I clicked on my own links. Even with a dispute they disabled it. That was before the thumbnails feature was added to monetized channels.... ( i believe ). Other then that, thanks for the help.
